Disturbed peace and harmony

The term “Flower Children” was coined in the 1960s by the American beatnik poet, Alan Ginsberg (1926-97), who suggested handing out flowers as a gesture of peace. In this series of computer  generated images, the term is to be read literally.

As the recurrent motif we see apparently harmonious arrangements of children next to oversized plants.

However, the idea of peace and harmony between innocent children and nature does not hold water. Some of the children are in the process of destroying the flowers. Others seem to hide behind the plants as if they had become afraid of something. The constellations between the children and the plants become more and more disturbing the more you look at the sceneries. “The snake in Paradise” is present in numerous guises.
